Tess DuChateau
Position title: Access Social Worker

Tess is an Access Social Worker for Dane County Human Services for 11 years. She earned her Masters of Social Work degree from UW-Madison and is a graduate of the Title IV-E Child Welfare Training Program. Tess has been giving this presentation to various community providers and other WI CPS agencies since August 2021, including at the 2022 Public Child Welfare Conference. She is actively working with agencies to implement structural change to reporting requirements to further the goals of mandated supporting.

Presentation Description: Mandatory reporting is not neutral. While a legal requirement for some professions, it is often unclear to the reporters when to report. Please join us in learning the legal statutes around mandated reporting, the consequences of unnecessary reports to CPS and how to become a mandated supporter in our community.
